The Front Range Theatre Company Staff acknowledges that the Mamma Mia! cast list was leaked before the staff had intended. We apologize for the lack of security and to those who potentially had the joy and excitement of looking at the cast list taken away from them. The Front Range Theatre Company Staff looks forward to announcing the cast lists for our Triple Threat Summer Camps every year and unfortunately, this day that was supposed to be filled with excitement is now tainted with disappointment. We will adjust and learn for future years.
Thank you for coming so prepared to your audition and putting your passion, heart, and soul into it. We are so lucky to have such talented actors and our certain that is is going to be one of FRTC’s best productions to date. It was so difficult casting this show as we could have double, tripled, and quadrupled the cast! Additional specialty parts and leadership opportunities will be casted in the next week and at during camp. If you would like feedback on your audition and how you can improve, please email us at frontrangetheatreco@gmail.com (after waiting the mandatory 48 hours).
Audition Instructions
Thank you for joining us for FRTC’s MAMMA MIA! this summer! We are so excited to see the energy and enthusiasm the students bring to the auditions! Auditions will be held at Parker Performing Arts School from 9:00 AM-12:00 PM on Saturday, May 21. Callbacks will be on the same day, starting at 5 PM.
Students should be registered for MAMMA MIA! prior to auditions. Everyone registered for this show will be cast in the production. However, if a student does not wish to audition, they may forgo the audition process and will be placed in the ensemble.
For auditions, please prepare 2-3 of the audition tracks found below. The student can sing any of the songs they like, regardless of the character. We will ask each auditioner to sing one of their selections. Should we need to hear more, we will ask for additional songs they have prepared. Auditions will be 3-5 minutes long.
If any students have questions or comments about the casting, they may contact the directors but we ask that they wait at least a day to do so.
If you have any other questions regarding auditions please contact us, by emailing us at frtccolo@gmail.com.
An important note on the PDFs: For each song there is a .pdf file that contains the sheet music for the audition cut. I have crossed out any music that you don’t need to worry about and put “START” and “END” brackets to mark the starts and ends of the karaoke track for each cut. There is intentionally a bar or two of music before the singing starts to provide some time for your ear to acclimate to the key of the song. Sometimes there are multiple parts singing during a cut - don’t worry about any parts except for the main melody (which might switch from character to character in some songs). If there are harmonies listed, sing any of the notes!
An important note on the MP4 tracks: For each song there is a Rehearsal Track and an Audition Track. The Rehearsal Track includes Collin, our musical director, playing the melody on top of the Audition Track Accompaniment. We recommend that you begin practicing with the Rehearsal Track to familiarize yourself with the melody before moving on to the Audition Track.
