Production Title: Of Mice and Men

Callback Date (if necessary): Monday, February 2, 2025 and/or Tuesday, February 3, 2025
Performance Dates: This is a one weekend run - April 24th - April 27th, 2025
Performance Location: Castle Pines Library (360 Village Square Ln, Castle Pines, CO 80108)
Pay: Stipend of $50 per performance per actor. We are planning four total performances at this time.
About the Production:
We are seeking talented actors to bring to life John Steinbeck's timeless classic, "Of Mice and Men". This powerful and poignant play tells the story of two migrant men, George and Lennie, and their dreams of a better life during the Great Depression.
Front Range Theatre Company uses the Community Standards for Theatre-Colorado. We encourage actors of all ethnicities, gender and abilities to audition. It is important to be aware that this production will involve some physical activity and simulated violence that includes the use of prop guns.
Roles:
We are casting the following roles:
- George Milton: male, 25-40, Lennie's friend and protector
- Lennie Small: male, 25-40, George's friend, large and childlike
- Candy: male, 40-60, ranch hand, missing a hand
- Curley: male, 20-35, son of the ranch owner, aggressive and mean
- Curley's Wife: female, 20-35, flirtatious and lonely
- Slim: male, 30-50, ranch hand, wise and kind
- Carlson: male, 30-50, ranch hand, practical and unsentimental
- Whit: male, 20-35, ranch hand, young and inexperienced
- Crooks: male, 30-50, ranch hand, African American, lonely and isolated
- Boss: male, 40-60, a well-dressed, stocky man who is in charge of the ranch, concerned with profits over people
Audition Requirements:
- All auditions will be done via video submission
- Prepare a 60-90 second dramatic monologue of your choice
- Submit your video audition along with a headshot and resume to [email protected]
- Video submissions will be accepted from January 8, 2025 - February 1, 2025. Submissions after February 1, 2025 will not be considered.
- Casting will be announced no later than Monday, February 3, 2025.
Rehearsal and Performance Schedule:
- With the exception of tech week, all rehearsals will be in the Centennial/Highlands Ranch area. Tech week will take place in Castle Pines at the library.
- The first meet & greet/ read through will take place on Thursday, February 27th from 7:15 pm - 9:15 pm.
- Regular rehearsals will begin March 4, 2025 and will be held Tuesday and Thursday from 7:15 pm - 9:15 pm, and on Saturdays from 12 pm - 3 pm.
- Performances will run April 24th - April 26th, 2025 at 7:00 pm and April 27th at 2:00 pm.
